Soundtrack Review: Marco Beltrami’s Score To ‘Logan’ – No. 1 Box Office Movie! | Cut Print Film

Beltrami’s score really is gush-worthy. It’s one of those rare soundtracks that’s as effective on its own as it is in the film that inspired it. – Patrick Phillips, Cut Print Film

James Mangold’s Logan movie opened at No. 1 in the Box Offices last weekend, and in case you still haven’t picked up the soundtrack, critics love Marco Beltrami’s score, too.  Take, for instance, this detailed album review at Cut Print Film.  You may want to click play for every track reviewed and compare notes!  The soundtrack is out now on digital and streaming platforms on Lakeshore Records.  Pre-order the CD, out on March 31 here.

Throwback Thursday: Adam Wingard’s ‘Blair Witch’ Score In Review | Musique Machine

An experience enjoyable without the visuals… Black Hills Forest, and Rustin Parr, establish several of the key features of the album… listening at a louder volume reveals new worlds. – Musique Machine

To truly appreciate Adam Wingard’s score to last year’s Blair Witch movie, the direct sequel to the cult phenomenon The Blair Witch Project, this soundtrack review at Musique Machine is essential reading. Mastered by Robert Rich, a pioneering ambient musician, the album is described as “surprisingly detailed” without being intrusive.  It is certainly a rich review of the soundtrack.  Read the full review at Musique Machine.

EXCLUSIVE! Listen To Carpenter Brut’s Debut Single For ‘The Rise of The Synths’ Companion Album | Vehlinggo

The cut clearly reflects Carpenter Brut’s deft approach to synthwave — darksynth bathed in the melodic predilections of Tangerine Dream, Dario Argento, and the man for which the Carpenter Brut project derives its name; and scrubbed raw with the essence of SebastiAn. – Vehlinggo

Premiering today is the debut single from the upcoming The Rise of The Synths Companion Album, featuring the new and exclusive track, “Night Stalker” by French synthwave artist Carpenter Brut — listen now at Vehlinggo!  The single will be available digitally this Friday, March 3 on Lakeshore’s Bandcamp.  The full companion album is set to drop this spring.

This album, featuring all-new and exclusive tracks, was conceived in support of the forthcoming The Rise of The Synths documentary directed by Iván Castell and produced by Javier Moreno with an amazing team from Spain.  The film is the definitive documentary about synthwave and ’80s retro and electronic music.  The crowd-funding campaign is ongoing, and you can support the film’s next phase at Indiegogo.
