Merchants Of Doubt: Score By Mark Adler Coming Soon, Film Opens On March 6

Sony Pictures Classics has debuted the official trailer for the doc Merchants of Doubt, from director Robert Kenner (of Food, Inc. previously), that looks at the “pundits-for-hire who present themselves as scientific authorities as they speak about topics like toxic chemicals, pharmaceuticals and climate change.” Essentially, it sheds light on the various lobbyists and corporations that fight endlessly to deny facts in order to maintain a political/financial agenda in their favor. –

Lakeshore Records will release the soundtrack to Merchants of Doubt, featuring the score by Mark Adler (Food Inc.) coming soon to iTunes.  Directed by Robert Kenner (who directed the Oscar®-winning Food Inc.), Merchants of Doubt was an Official Selection at the Toronto International Film Festival and at the Telluride Film Festival.  A documentary about “the art of propaganda,” Merchants of Doubt opens in select theaters beginning March 6 via Sony Pictures Classics.  Stay tuned for more soundtrack details!

Inspired by the acclaimed book by Naomi Oreskes and Erik Conway, Merchants of Doubt takes audiences on a satirically comedic, yet illuminating ride into the heart of conjuring American spin.  Filmmaker Robert Kenner lifts the curtain on a secretive group of highly charismatic, silver-tongued pundits-for-hire who present themselves in the media as scientific authorities – yet have the contrary aim of spreading maximum confusion about well-studied public threats ranging from toxic chemicals to pharmaceuticals to climate change.
